Cork sheeting has been applied to the staging area. I had used rolled cork in the Gerber Yard – never again. It was terrible to glue down – even with weight on it. Several edges had to be stapled down. The MidWest cork sheets are a breeze to use.
A strip of Masonite with holes drilled at various diameters was used as a compass to draw the curves.
There is a corner where an operator can pop up to rerail any cars in the deep area of staging. I fit fine but can gain a few more inches as I enlarge hole now that track locations have been drawn. The switches at each end will be reachable from the aisle.
All but two of the 3-way switches and one #6 have been constructed. Excited to get this area done.
Switches will be controlled by push button selection just like the Gerber yard.
The last image is looking across the swing gate toward the east end of staging.
