Laying Ties

After a week trip to California, it was time to get to work.  I didn’t order enough Fast Tracks tie strips for my #8 switch so individual ties needed to be put down.  A template was printed, masking tape placed upside down, then individual ties cut to length place on it.  Would have been better to use less tacky tape.  Also, use narrower tape to expose rails.  Professional Grade Plibond was applied to ties and rails.  When dry, track placed on top and then soldering iron heated rail to vulcanize the rubber.  Happy with the results.  The west end of Gerber yard entrance includes this switch (dark color.)  All Gerber switches are in.

The entry gate I’m going to install was taken apart and reassembled to swing from the right side.  This was necessary because of the light switches on the left.
